Earlier this year, following our Founder and CEO visit with guests from St. Louis, we had the opportunity to sit down with the CEO of Fresh Harvest 365 to explore a partnership. The goal was to engage some of our top Data Scientists and Data Analysts to help develop a dashboard that could drive sustainable solutions in agriculture and public health.
After months of preparation, we launched the Fresh Harvest 365 Hackathon AGHack4Health with over $20,000 in prizes. We hosted 22 participants from the US, alongside six of our brightest talents in data science, representing institutions like ALU and ALX.
AGHack4Health took place from June 30th to July 3rd at our Nyatarama hub, bringing together deans, professors, and students from Tuskegee University, Iowa State University, North Carolina State University, North Carolina A&T State University, Southern Illinois University Carbondale, and more.
Looking ahead, we aim to build on this momentum by creating even more platforms where young talent, industry experts, and academic leaders can come together to drive meaningful change. Together, we’re not just building solutions; we’re shaping a future where technology and data transform communities for the better.

- Day 1: The teams visited the Sands Experience Centre and Blue Room, followed by tours of ALX and ALU.
- Days 2-4: The hackathon officially kicked off, running for three days. On the final day, teams of three presented their solutions before a distinguished panel of judges, including the Dean and Director of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, a Professor of Practice at the University of Maryland School of Public Policy, the Manager of BioSTL, CEOs of Developing Our Youth, Gateway Global, and Bus Technology, as well as our very own ALX Rwanda GM, Nimie.
